Halloween Costume Swap - 2026

Event Goals:

  • A fun way to declutter outgrown costumes and let kids pick out a new-to-them costume for free!

Donation Window: Drop off costumes at the front office during school hours between Thursday, September 17 through Friday, October 2, 2026. See the FAQ below for more info on what costumes are accepted

Swap Day & Time (kids only): Monday, October 5, 2026, during school hours

Location: Drop-offs and actual swap happen in the Bracher front office

Cost: FREE!

Students who donate a costume will have a voucher to browse other donated costumes during the first hour of the swap. After that the remaining costumes will be available to all students!

Volunteering: If you would like to help during the swap please email us at bracherpta@gmail.com. We love parents who are excited to be part of out events!

Activities:

Drop off your gently used costumes of any size (though kids’ costumes are definitely the most helpful!) at Bracher’s front office during school hours between TBD-TBD.

You’ll receive a voucher for a new-to-you costume FREE of charge.

Send your vouchers with your student(s) on the day of the swap where they can pick a new-to-them costume during school hours.

The first hour is for all kids with vouchers, after that all kids are welcome to pick a free costume.

There will not be costumes for everyone, but costumes are available until we run out!

Event FAQ

  • Gently used costumes of any size, but kid costumes size 4T through 5th-grader sized will be most loved!

    No blood, gore, clowns, or anything that promotes or references illegal activities or acts of violence

    No weapons, fake or otherwise

    No masks. Wigs and hats are ok though!

    Feel free to include any accessories (hats, wigs, wands, etc) that you wish. Please just place these accessories in a bag with the costume.

  • Q: Can I have more than 1 voucher?

    A: You will receive one voucher per costume up to the total number of children you have at Bracher.

    Q: Can my child use their voucher to get a costume for a sibling instead?

    A: Yes

    Q: What happens if my child doesn’t use their voucher?

    A: They do not need to use it! Donated costumes not claimed this year will be saved for next year’s swap. Vouchers are not valid for cash and cannot be used the following school year.

  • No. This is a student event and a fun time for them to explore their creativity and and have fun with peers!
